FUNCTIONS AND RESIDENCIES

Using stunningly original arrangements and an eclectic mix of styles, the Marten Quartet brings high class presentation and a unique charisma to the string repertoire. With a smooth distinctive sound and elegant sophistication they have an innate ability for capturing the exact mood and atmosphere of any occasion and can brilliantly pinpoint music to lift a crowd.

Their repertoire is extensive and ranges from large scale classical works through to 1920’s jazz standards, pop covers and West End show tunes. It is rare that the quartet cannot match a style or request of clients. Placing heavy emphasis on presentation, they portray an image of sophistication, elegance and glamour and this had made the quartet a favourite with pop stars, film stars, charity and fashion show organisers.

RESIDENCIES
The Marten Quartet have held several prestigious residencies including Harrods, Selfridges and most notably a three year post in the tea room of Claridges’ Hotel, where they built a substantial rapport with guests and were regularly asked to perform at additional events. During this time the quartet began to work for the Savoy group and continue to perform at the Ritz, Dorchester and Grosvenor hotels.

FUNCTIONS
Functions are a speciality of the quartet. Venues include Kensington Palace, St James’ Palace, Cliveden, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and the hospitality tent at Wimbledon. Clients include Elizabeth Taylor, Prince Phillip, Trudie Styler, Estee Lauder and The Wallace Collection. The Quartet also played for Floella Benjamin at the Woman of the Year event 2000.
